|  | It is a most happy thing for me to take on the artistic leadership of Melbourne (then Australia Pro Arte) Chamber Orchestra after so many years of inspiration and generosity from the founding artistic director, Jeffrey Crellin – now Artistic Director Emeritus. Jeff’s vision of Pro Arte as an independent orchestra, is something for which we have worked together in recent years and is now well established.
Under the gracious and inspiring patronage of mentor and friend, Sir Neville Marriner, I aim to establish MCO as a crucible of individual growth and musical leadership.
Calvin Bowman displays rare gifts as a musician and composer. His position as Associate Artistic director provides a depth to the artistic leadership of MCO which I believe is not exceeded in this country.
It is indeed a wonderful thing to have the opportunity to lead such a gifted and talented team of artists who are committed to the goal of further establishing Melbourne Chamber Orchestra as one of our community's finest artistic ensemles.
