Our Patron

| | Is there a better-known musician world-wide than Sir Neville Marriner?
Famous for founding the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields in 1959, Sir Neville remains a leading conductor in Europe as the golden jubilee of that momentous event approaches.
His vitality, musicianship and generosity to the music through fostering the development of the most talented players, even at his own expense, are models which guide the development of Melbourne Chamber Orchestra.
On assuming the position as Patron of Melbourne (then Australia Pro Arte) Chamber Orchestra, Sir Neville said, “I am honoured and delighted to become a patron of the orchestra … under [William Hennessy’s] leadership.”
