Rachael Beesley (violin)






Rachael Beesley became a core member of MCO in 2009.

Rachael performs as a soloist and chamber musician in festivals throughout the world. Specializing in repertoire from the Baroque and Classical periods, Rachael appears as concertmaster with La Petite Bande, Il Complesso Barocco, and the New Dutch Academy as well as performing with Les Arts Florissants, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Anima Eterna.

Rachael has been teaching Baroque Violin and Practising in Flow at The Royal Conservatoire, The Hague, The Netherlands since 2001, where she graduated with a Master of Music in 1999.

Prize-winner at the Van Wassenaer Concours for Early Music Ensembles and the Festival van Vlaanderen Brugge Concours for Classical Ensembles, in 2000, Rachael was awarded an Ian Potter Cultural Trust.

The vitality and originality of the Australian music scene draws Rachael back to her homeland regularly to direct and lead performances with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, Pinchgut Opera, Ironwood and the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra. Rachael performs on over 30 recordings for Deutsche Gramophone, Harmonia Mundi, SONY, BIS, Pentatone, Et’cetera and ABC Classics.
